Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of India’s healthcare strategy, with the potential to enhance efficiency, expand access, and deliver more precise treatments. According to Philips Innovation Campus (PIC), AI’s greatest promise lies in supporting clinicians with faster, more confident decision-making, particularly in imaging and diagnostics.
In MRI, AI-powered acceleration technologies, such as Philips’ SmartSpeed, can reduce scan times by up to threefold and improve resolution by 65% without additional hardware, easing patient discomfort and increasing hospital efficiency. Similarly, in ultrasound, AI reduces operator variability by automatically identifying optimal images, making care more consistent and scalable across diverse clinical settings. Computed tomography (CT) is also benefiting from AI-based reconstruction, enabling sharper imaging at lower radiation doses.
Beyond diagnostics, AI-driven guidance is transforming interventional cardiology by acting as a digital co-pilot, improving navigation during complex procedures. Similar applications are emerging in oncology, neurology, and minimally invasive surgery, driving safer, faster, and more accessible care.
