Heartfulness Educational Trust and MDNIY Join Hands to Expand Yoga Programmes Globally

The Heartfulness Educational Trust (HET) and the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) have entered into a five-year partnership aimed at expanding Yoga education, research, wellness activities and outreach programmes in India and other countries.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at Kanha Shanti Vanam, the headquarters of Heartfulness near Hyderabad. The collaboration brings together MDNIY’s academic and policy expertise with the Heartfulness network and its experience in meditation and programme implementation.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will work on a range of initiatives, including theme-based wellness programmes, school Yoga education, specialised Yoga programmes for people with disabilities, internships and youth skill-development activities. They will also collaborate on initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and plans for establishing a Yoga Museum at Kanha Shanti Vanam.

The partnership also includes plans to expand Yoga and wellness programmes internationally through the Heartfulness network, which operates across more than 150 countries. The organisations intend to conduct workshops, exhibitions, wellness conclaves and other programmes in India and abroad.

For schools, HET and MDNIY will jointly develop Yoga and yogic-lifestyle programmes aligned with CBSE, ICSE, NCERT and AYUSH guidelines. Teacher-training programmes and educational resources are also part of the proposed collaboration.

The agreement further provides for specialised programmes for people with visual, hearing and other disabilities, along with training for instructors. Joint research projects, student internships and skill-certification opportunities for young Yoga professionals are also planned.

The partnership is expected to provide a structured framework for combining traditional Yoga practices with education, research, professional training and wider community outreach.
