Maxivision Launches 10 Eye Hospitals in Chennai, Unveils Blade-Free Laser Technology

Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals has launched 10 new facilities across Chennai, marking a major expansion backed by ₹100 crore in investment. The initiative was inaugurated by former India cricket captain M.S. Dhoni, alongside Maxivision leadership, including Dr. GSK Velu and Dr. Kasu Prasad Reddy.

This move aims to strengthen Maxivision’s reach across Tamil Nadu, where it already operates in cities like Trichy, Madurai, and Salem. At the launch, Dhoni also unveiled SiLK Elita—Chennai’s first blade-free, flapless laser vision correction offering rapid recovery and minimal discomfort.

The centres feature robotic femto-laser cataract surgery, diabetic eye care, corneal transplants, and paediatric ophthalmology. With Chennai facing a rising burden of cataract and lifestyle-related vision problems, this expansion boosts access to advanced, community-focused care.

As part of its broader Project Velicham, Maxivision plans to set up over 130 facilities across Tamil Nadu, combining clinical innovation with local employment and training in ophthalmology.
